Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, share and protect your personal information — and the choices you have over it.
1. Introduction and Scope
Aruldass Communications (“Aruldass,” “we,” “us” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website, request a quote, place an order or contact our support team, how we use that information, who we share it with, and the choices available to you.
This policy applies to our website and to the sales and support services we provide as an authorized retailer of telecommunications services. It does not apply to the practices of the carriers whose services you ultimately purchase. Once you become a customer of a carrier, that carrier's own privacy policy governs the information it collects about your account and your use of its network. We encourage you to read it.
2. Information You Provide to Us
We collect information you give us directly, which typically includes:
- Contact details — your name, email address, telephone number and mailing address.
- Service address information — the street address, unit number and ZIP code where you want service, which we need in order to check availability.
- Service preferences — which services interest you, your speed or channel requirements, household size and your preferred installation timeframe.
- Current provider information — if you choose to share your existing bill or provider details so we can produce a like-for-like comparison.
- Order information — details necessary to submit an order to a carrier on your behalf, which may include date of birth and the last four digits of a government identifier where the carrier requires it for credit verification.
- Communications — the content of emails, web form submissions, chat messages and notes from telephone conversations with our agents.
We ask only for information that is necessary for the service you have requested. You are not required to provide any of it, but withholding certain details may prevent us from checking availability or completing an order.
3. Information Collected Automatically
When you visit our website, certain information is collected automatically by our servers and analytics tools:
- IP address and approximate geographic region derived from it
- Browser type and version, operating system and device type
- Pages viewed, time spent on each page and navigation paths through the site
- The referring website or search term that brought you to us
- Date and time of your visit
This information is aggregated and used to understand how the site is performing, which pages are useful and where visitors encounter difficulty. It is not used to build an individual profile of you for advertising purposes.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our website uses cookies — small text files placed on your device — and similar technologies. We use them in the following categories:
- Strictly necessary cookies enable core functionality such as page navigation and form submission. The site cannot function properly without them.
- Preference cookies remember choices you make, such as a previously entered ZIP code, so you do not have to repeat them.
- Analytics cookies help us understand aggregate visitor behaviour so we can improve the site.
- Marketing cookies, where used, help measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may cause parts of the site to stop working. Where required by applicable law, we will seek your consent before setting non-essential cookies.
5. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To check which services are available at your service address
- To prepare quotes and compare plans across the carriers we represent
- To submit and process orders with the carrier you select
- To communicate with you about an order, installation appointment or enquiry
- To provide customer support and to escalate issues with a carrier on your behalf
- To send promotional offers and service updates, where you have consented to receive them
- To improve our website, services and internal training
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements
6. Marketing Communications and Consent
When you submit a form on our website or provide your telephone number to an agent, you consent to being contacted by Aruldass about the service enquiry you made. This may include telephone calls, SMS text messages and emails, and may involve automated dialing technology.
Consent to marketing contact is not a condition of purchasing any product or service.
You can withdraw consent at any time:
- Reply STOP to any SMS message to stop text communications
- Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email
- Tell any agent on a call that you wish to be placed on our internal do-not-call list
- Email info@aruldass.com with the word “OPT OUT” in the subject line
We honour opt-out requests promptly. Note that we may still contact you about a pending order or an active transaction even after you opt out of marketing, because that communication is necessary to complete the service you asked for.
7. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following circumstances:
- With carriers — when you ask us to check availability or place an order, we share the information necessary for that carrier to qualify your address and establish your account. This is the core of what we do as a retailer.
- With service providers — vendors who perform functions on our behalf, such as website hosting, customer relationship management, telephony and email delivery. They are contractually restricted to using the information only for the services they provide to us.
- For legal reasons — where we believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena or court order, or is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of Aruldass, our customers or the public.
- In a business transaction — if Aruldass is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the terms of this policy.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, including any period required to satisfy legal, accounting, tax or reporting obligations.
- Quote enquiries that do not result in an order are typically retained for up to 24 months
- Order and customer records are typically retained for up to 7 years for accounting and dispute-resolution purposes
- Marketing consent and opt-out records are retained indefinitely, because we need them to honour your preferences
- Website analytics data is typically retained in aggregated form for up to 26 months
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or irreversibly anonymize it.
9. Data Security
We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. These include encryption of data in transit using TLS, access controls limiting employee access to what their role requires, secure credential management and regular review of our vendors' security practices.
No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security, and you share information with us at your own risk. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
10. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Right to know — request confirmation of whether we process your information and what categories we hold
- Right of access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Right to correction — ask us to fix information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Right to deletion — ask us to delete your information, subject to legal retention requirements
- Right to opt out — opt out of marketing communications and, where applicable, of the sharing of information for targeted advertising
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny service or charge you differently for exercising these rights
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@aruldass.com or call (801) 636-3264. We will verify your identity before acting on a request and will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law, generally within 45 days. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
11. State-Specific Disclosures
California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, California residents have the rights described above, including the right to know the categories of personal information collected, the purposes for collection, and the categories of third parties with whom it is shared. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined under California law.
Other states. Residents of states including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah and Texas have comparable rights under their respective consumer privacy statutes, including rights of access, correction, deletion and opt-out, and in some cases the right to appeal a refused request. We apply these rights on a consistent basis wherever practicable.
Nevada residents. Nevada law permits residents to opt out of the sale of certain personal information. We do not engage in such sales, but you may submit a request using the contact details in this policy.
12. Children's Privacy
Our website and services are directed to adults and are not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13, and our services require that account holders be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
13. Third-Party Websites and Links
Our website may contain links to carrier websites and other third-party resources. We provide these for convenience and information only. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Once you follow a link away from our site, this Privacy Policy no longer applies. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any website you visit.
14. Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. There is currently no universally accepted standard for how websites should respond to these signals. Our website does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals. Where legally recognized opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control are received, we treat them as a valid opt-out request to the extent required by applicable law.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements or business operations. When we make material changes, we will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice such as an email or a prominent notice on the website.
Your continued use of our website or services after an updated policy takes effect constitutes acceptance of the changes. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
